Private and Government affiliated security service providers are business corporations that provide armed and unarmed security services to public and private clients. These companies are primarily engaged in providing specialized security and patrol personnel, such as bodyguards, security guards, parking security and guard dogs. Many of these agencies or corporations are associated or approved by government or defense ministries and offer advanced special operations to demanding clients. A few of these services include prevention of unauthorized entry or activity, access control, threat detection, traffic regulation and prevention of fire and theft. These services are generally defined as personnel/asset protection services.

Security services like guard dogs, roving patrol, and personal bodyguards are special services, provided by only a small number of security service providers. Employees of Private Security Corporations are generally called security guards or security officers, depending on local laws and regulations. In some countries, private security companies are referred to as security contractors, commonly mistaken for private military contractors. Security guards or security officers are private agents, employed to protect the assets of an organization. These assets can either be people, property, money or any other asset owned by or associated with the organization.

Security guards, otherwise known as protective agents are required to protect assets against various hazards and threats like vandalism, unsafe worker behavior and any criminal activity. They maintain high-visibility and observe signs of crime, disorder or fire with directly or utilizing surveillance systems. They then take preventive or defensive measures to minimize damage or neutralize threats and appropriately report any incident to the authorities and clients.

Private security agencies in the UAE offer a range of private security solutions to private, corporate and public clients. Most of these companies offer a wide range of services apart from security, with various specialized divisions like training, certification, consultancy, surveillance and security. Their services are approved and comply with regulations of various government and government affiliated departments.
