Farms in Iraq

Farms in Iraq are used to cultivate fruits, vegetables and animals for the market. In spite of being extremely hot and dry and having dominating desert topography, Iraq is rich in agricultural resources and is among the top date producers. Apart from dates, Iraq also produces apples, strawberries, sweet melons, watermelons, mangos and olives. Various kinds of vegetables including lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, capsicum, zucchini, eggplant and broccoli along with different kinds of herbs are produced in Iraq farms. Cows and sheep are reared as part of poultry farming and dairy products such as milk and cheese are collected from these farms. Fishing also constitutes a major part of agriculture in Iraq.
